We meet the first Tuesday of every month. Drinks and a group of super smart people to hang out with—what more could you possibly need? An expert presentation on the latest in social media applications? Done.
~
Here’s the basic schedule of a Net2NO meetup:
6:30 – 7:00 – Check in (i.e. make yourself a name tag), cocktails, networking.
~
7:00 – 8:00 – This is the program part of the meetup. Grab a drink, get settled, and hear the evening’s presentation. The topics and speakers vary, but the time frame is always the same…
~
8:00 – 9:00 – More casual networking (and of course drinking).
~
It’s free, it’s fun, and it’s casual. Show up and leave whenever you want. Bring a friend. Or make new ones. Send us an email if you have any questions, neworleans[at]net2tuesday.org.
~
Future dates at Le Chat Noir: September 7th, October 5th, November 2nd; December 7th…

At our core, Net2NO is pretty much about community and technology.
By now our members are probably noticing a pattern here. Last year, was the year of Social Entrepreneurs. This year, however, with the all-too-important Mayoral Election fast approaching, civic engagement and participation is a topic we just couldn’t ignore.
Like it or not, Net2NO has blossomed from an underground “club” into a legitimate community of influentials. Our ranks are comprised of activists, social workers, community builders, serial entrepreneurs, do-gooders, and whatever it is that David Crais actually does. Nearly every member of our group is what we lovingly refer to as “slashes”... they are web developers slash Red Cross volunteers, Trial Lawyers slash Executive Directors of a Nola YPO , Tulane Grad-Students slash co-founders of a Green startup business.
New Orleans is an amazingly diverse and eclectic community. While this makes for a truly unique cultural experience, it can also make consensus building a Herculean task. This month, Mr. Fielkow will discuss with us their vision for how we all can be a part of that process. Whether it be the new Mayor, City-council, or your average John Q Public, we all have a role to play in creating a new generation of civic discourse in this city.
